(They/Them/elle)
clinical social work intern
I enjoy working with youth (12–25), adults, couples, and families. As an intern clinical social worker, I support clients navigating trauma, grief, depression, anxiety, self-harm, suicidal ideation, intimate partner violence, childhood abuse, and identity-related concerns such as coming out, transitioning, polyamory, and minority stress.
My approach is trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and grounded in harm reduction, meeting clients where they are and centering their lived experiences. I draw on narrative therapy to help clients externalize oppression, reclaim their stories, and build self-narratives aligned with their values.
I also use family emotional systems theory to understand relational patterns and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to clarify core values and pursue meaningful life goals through practical tools like mindfulness and coping strategies.
I feel privileged to support clients in dreaming and taking risks—the risks that lead to growth, authenticity, and freedom. Challenging systemic and internal barriers and defining one’s identity is a powerful act of resistance and self-determination. As Mary Oliver asks, “[t]ell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”
A little about myself: I came to clinical practice after an academic career, earning a PhD in critical cultural studies, training under leading scholars, and engaging in activism and teaching for over a decade. My work focuses on personal and community-level interventions that improve the lives of marginalized clients.
I grew up on California’s northern coast, often playing hooky to catch waves. I enjoy traveling to beach destinations and surf spots. I love hiking, running, roller skating, attending queer events, immersing myself in nature, and spending time with friends, family, and my sassy cat, Maximillian.
I am passionate about supporting clients in finding hope, getting unstuck, and working toward their goals, while reclaiming their stories and building lives aligned with their values. If you’re ready to explore the possibilities for your future and take steps toward growth and healing, I would be honored to work with you.
