Emma Clark
(she/her)
peer wellness specialist
Are you looking for mental health support from someone with lived experience? My name’s Emma Clark, and I’d love to help you. As a neurodivergent, bisexual, transgender woman living with multiple mental health conditions, I am here to support you in building the life you want to live and in achieving your goals.
As a Peer Wellness Specialist (PWS), I offer what is referred to as “peer support”: support services given peer to peer, not therapist to patient. These are different from therapy, though they often make an excellent addition to standard therapeutic treatment.
This can include: sharing my own experiences of mental health, neurodivergence, and queerness, connecting you to local resources (including but not limited to: housing, food, clothing, gender-affirming medical care, peer support groups, and name change clinics), offering a space for you to talk through challenges coming up in your life or any changes you’re exploring making, helping you set goals and establish routines, helping you build healthy coping skills and social support networks, accompanying you to medical appointments for support and advocating for your care to the healthcare providers, among other roles.
I operate from a trauma-informed, intersectional, gender-affirming, client-centered lens. I believe that you, as the client, have the innate capacity to thrive and that you know yourself best. This is your time and your treatment – you are in the driver’s seat. I’m just here to help.
I specialize in working with transgender, gender-diverse, neurodivergent, and/or LGBTQ+ people, and I am happy to work with people of all identities. I recognize that I hold both identities of privilege and identities of marginalization, and that I may have blind spots due to my privilege. I am committed to continuing to grow and learn so that I can serve my clients in the best way possible.
I believe the life you want to live is within reach, and I’d love to help you get there.
More About Me
In my free time, I enjoy spending my time cycling, trying new sports, interacting with birds in my neighborhood, wearing gender-affirming outfits, dancing to live music, exploring new interests, and discovering more and more of myself every year.
