Hello, my name is Kaylynne. I work as a clinical therapist at Full Spectrum. I hold a Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling. I am a white, Queer, genderfluid, nonbinary, and neurodivergent human. I have direct lived experience with traumatic loss and grief.

WHAT IS THERAPY WITH ME LIKE?

As a therapist, I approach our work from a feminist, person-centered, and trauma-informed lens. I recognize that you are the expert of your experience, and seek to co-create a therapeutic space where we draw upon your strengths to work toward the goals that you define in therapy.

My focus as a therapist is that you feel empowered with new strategies for managing the impacts of ADHD, trauma, anxiety, and/or grief in your daily life. By creating a space that is non-judgemental, my goal is that we can be curious together as we move toward your therapeutic goals. Building upon your existing skills, we will identify additional techniques that feel affirming and accessible to you as you move through the world.

Spaces that celebrate Queer and Trans identities, where I have been supported in my own flourishing, have provided the foundation for the art therapist I am today. I am honored to have prior experience serving my community, and I carry the knowledge of Queer resilience gleaned from these experiences with me into my work today. My professional background in Queer mentorship and social justice advocacy continue to influence my approach to therapy, and I recognize the influences of injustice, ableism, and institutional trauma on how we navigate mental health.

WHAT IS ART THERAPY?

Creative expression is a meaningful tool in my own healing journey, to make sense of my experiences and embrace joy in being alive. I pursued training in art therapy because I have experienced and witnessed what can happen when we enter into creative flow. The catharsis and soothing powers of art-making has supported me in my own healing journey, and regardless of your age or prior experience making art, incorporating a creative practice into your daily life can provide something meaningful or restorative for you, too.

If you have found joy, meaning, or comfort through creative expression already, we can utilize these tools to create a routine that supports your well-being. If you find the possibility of making art totally intimidating, it is never a requirement. During our work together, I will offer opportunities for you to be curious and experience play with art materials, at your own level of comfort.

OUTSIDE OF THE SESSION

In my free time, I can be found birding, stumbling through a new fiber arts project, or spending time exploring the PNW with my chosen family.

As a Qualified Mental Health Professional registrant (QHMP-R), I am supervised by Dr. Angela Harman, Psy.D.
