Dr. Angela Harman, PsyD

(she/her)

Clinical Supervisor

As a licensed psychologist, I have spent my career working with adults, adolescents and families. My focus has been working with marginalized communities with a particular emphasis on those suffering with severe and persistent mental illness. I have worked in forensic, community mental health, hospital and primary care settings. I view access to health care, both physical and mental, as a human right. I have worked diligently in my career to help facilitate health care access for groups of people who are often excluded in our society.

My therapeutic philosophy comes from an eclectic mix of cognitive, behavioral, humanistic, feminist and relational approaches. The goal of treatment is to provide a safe space to support the client through a process of looking at how relationship dynamics, societal norms and thought processes impact behavior, mood and a sense of self.

When providing supervision, I support clinicians by giving them a framework for meeting current clients needs, while also allowing for an expansion of therapeutic philosophy and practice. My aim is to provide a supportive and collaborative environment for goal setting, relationship building and personal and professional growth.
