(They/Them)

Art therapy Student intern

I am an Art Therapy student intern currently working towards a Master of Arts in Art Therapy and Mental Health Counseling at the Lewis and Clark Graduate School of Education and Counseling. I am a white, nonbinary, neurodivergent human with direct experience with relational trauma. I have completed the state of Oregon’s 40-hour training to be an advocate on behalf of survivors of domestic violence.

As a therapist, I focus on meeting the client where they are at and helping them step into their personal power and strength. Using a strengths-based, trauma-informed approach, I work in cooperation with clients to aid in the healing journey of the whole person, tapping into psychological, emotional, physiological, and spiritual processing. I focus on incorporating Somatic Therapy and a creative process to the healing journey and may invite clients to engage in mindfulness and Art Therapy techniques. Art Therapy is a healing modality involving a form of non-verbal expression using imagery, kinesthetic process, and symbolism to tap into deep meaning-making of human experience. Somatic Therapy is a therapeutic technique involving tapping into the body to process deep traumatic wounds.

My background is rooted in social justice and I consider my client’s cultural background and incorporate cultural aspects into therapy as needed. I value informed consent and building a strong relationship with the client to establish trust and unconditional acceptance in the therapeutic process. Using reflective listening and unconditional positive regard, I act as an ally to aid in the healing journey.

As an Art Therapy Student Intern, I am supervised by Sarah Abramovitz ATR-BC, LCAT, LPC and Kris Bella LCAT, ATR-BC, ATCS.
